Both albums and songs will be available for sale, withouth DRM, at RealNetworks, Wal-Mart, Amazon and Google. Surpisingly enough, iTunes was not involved in the deal. This is probably because Universal decided not to renew its long-term retail contract with iTunes, and Universal’s own Eminem is currently suing Apple for copyright infringement. With EMI having already offered its content DRM-free through iTunes, perhaps Universal will change its mind if the test run for DRM-free sales go well with the other networks.
